who's united number seven?
look wut i've got.. 4-18 nov, slb sent me for another training in UK. for me, it was another vacation. but there are some low points. training time's short, 2 weeks only. the accomodation's the worst they can provide. the hotel's ok, wut's not ok is the location. grantham itself is a small town, left alone the hotel's situated in the middle of nowhere.
so the only weekend in between, i spent it cruisin nottingham, considering:
a. close to grantham, half hour train (..which is cheap :P)
b. no home game for united in manchester
c. plenty of stores went on sale
got an item on top of my lists even before i board the plane to UK, a Man United jersey..
so, first stop..
SPORTS WORLD Nottingham
three stories building full of sports gear and football jerseys? is there anything better? oh, and have i mentioned about the sale? but never on premiership jerseys though..
finding the highest profile club jersey in their own country is not a hard job at all. of course, in terms of finding man united gears, sports world is just the second best after the manchester united megastore itself. but considering the time, the pounds to spend to get there, second best is not the worst option.
so, an hour later i lined up on cashier with 3 man united home jerseys. 1 for myself, 1 for my wife, n 1 for my brother. then i had a thought.. and i asked..
me : "d'you guys make custom printing on football jerseys?"
cashier girl : "sure, premiership?"
me : "yeah, for how much?"
cashier girl : "1.5 pounds for each letter, and 6 pounds for the number.."
me (talking on my mind) :
"why am i not surprised? wut's not expensive in this country?"me (after doing mind calculation on how much allowance left for the week) : "ok, i wanna print on two of those"
so i print no
7, YUSUF and no
2, JAYZEE for my wife.
no 7 represents United's finest. . cantona, beckham, ronaldo
no 2 is for the prolific captain Gary Neville
after all, day 2 month 7 was our wedding day..

OK, obviously after a 2 months the new season rolls, we head with a flying start. much much better than our shaky start last season. 4 wins in a row in premiership, a win in opening matchday in champions league.. every die hard man united fans will start shivering, seems like 99 sensation punch back in to their mind. tonight might draw a more clear sketch of how's the season will be going as top four favourite will clash against each other. united plays arsenal in old trafford, and rafa's liverpool side will have chelsea in their ground. interested in statistic? united has five wins and arsenal suffered massive blow to their season campaign. but nothing from the statistic can be expected to play any role when the ball hits the field. so, interesting game tonight? sure do. man united vs arsenal is the biggest rivalry ever written in football history. chelsea?? huh, when abramovich got bored play around with his money, they'll just go down to puddle again.
now talking bout the lads.. fergie didn't do much shopping in last transfer window. only michael carrick and tomas kuszcak. but the good thing is, the team is solid. the buying's effective. carrick seems like having no problems settling in. despite their clash on world cup, ronaldo and rooney suddenly friends again in united red shirt. so the future looks good? will retro shirt from busby babes 50 years ago bring united some luck? oh yeah..
come on lads.. let's lift up some trophy again..

ok, been almost a year..
blogging has been completely forgotten. where was i? busy to carry on life but forgot taking notes of it. within the time i've been missing, no big stories really.. only:
i got married (yes, it's true.. no joking). well, no digital photography and haven't got time to scan any photos yet, but i'll upload sometime for a prove. so yes.. i'm done with the hectic wedding preparation, mental battle for the D Day and every tasks else which are really really sucked my brains out. now, me and wife is still trying to recover our financial condition :P
but everything's worth it. i mean.. marriage is not all as scarry as we thought before.
recently.. having this thought bout why not blogging again? couldn't find the perfect answer, so why not? wanna start over. but i just dunno why every comments have ever recorded on my blog are missing. feel sorry for all buds who have ever commented in my blog.
days off recap
dikasih days off 2.5 minggu, spent 'em all in jogja :
* adekku wisuda dari D3 Mesin UGM (wong kuliah kok ndadak niru2 mas-mu toh, dhek?? mengko nek nasibmu sengsoro koyo aku piye??)
* mobil penyok sedikit, gara-gara truk di depan bikin manuver gak jelas. harus rogoh kantong 250 rebu buat ketok body. darn, itu kan sebenarnya dana buat masang kaca film?
* jatuh dari motor, kali ini ama jayzee. kenapa juga itu orang harus nyalip dari kiri, pake jas hujan lagi. itu jas hujan akhirnya ngelibet di setang motor kita, and.. kita jatuh dengan suksesnya. thankfully, gak ada cedera berarti. motor juga cuman bengkok di pijakan kaki ama persnelling.
* di hari yang sama saat jatuh dari motor, bocor ban ampe 2 kali berturut-turut. sigh.. that was definitely not our day..
* tergoda untuk nyobain ke pantai yang belum terkenal di gunung kidul bernama wediombo, we drove a long way. we found that some road signs were fake. ditulisnya wediombo 27 km, tapi setelah nyetir 40 kiloan belum nyampe juga. thankfully the beach worth the long trip.
* bought jayzee a new set of compie. next target would be getting her an internet connection, so there will be no more boundaries in communication.

The Da Vinci Code - The Movie
dah denger beritanya sejak setengah taun lalu, tapi baru browsing2 soal ini bebarapa hari terakhir. yep, the da vinci code, novel kontroversialnya dan brown itu mau difilemin. sejak pertama baca novelnya dulu ngebayangin kalo misalnya novel ini mau difilemin, yang kebayang robert langdon diperanin ama harrison ford, trus sophie neveu diperanin ama catherine zeta jones. eh, ternyata sony pictures punya pilihan lain yang untungnya jauh lebih masuk akal. tom hanks, kayaknya emang klik buat meranin robert langdon (dalam novelnya dideskripsikan umur 40-an tapi masih atletis, profesor di harvard university dan yang jelas..smart). hmm.. kalo harrison ford dah ketuaan lah ya? trus, berhubung dalam ceritanya sophie neveu itu cewek cerdas asli prancis maka pilihannya jatuh ke artis prancis juga bernama ..... (blom pernah denger ya? sama dah..)
ngeliat trailernya sih lumayan menjanjikan. di trailernya emang belom ada cuplikan scene dari filemnya itu sendiri, cuman ada narasi berbackground animasi monalisa. tapi, ya semoga aja filemnya masi menarik meskipun buat orang-orang yang dah hafal isi novelnya. menurut situs resminya, filemnya bakalan dirilis 19 Juni 2006. worth to wait?? let's see... sambil berharap Plaza Ambarukmo dah kelar pada tanggal itu, jadi bisa nonton 21 lagi di Jogja. atau Pasar Baru square yang kelar duluan di Balikpapan, soalnya rencananya bakalan ada 21 pertama juga di Balikpapan. tapi..uhmm.. kalo nonton di jogja kan ada yang ngedampingin?? :P

been a very sloppy month. two draws in a row against Lille and Tottenham, then crushed pathetically 1-4 to mediocre team Middlesbrough? and then again 1-0 defeat to Lille? well, melihat statistik sebenernya dah ga berharap banyak dari matchday lawan Chelsea. tapi, ternyata status "can't afford to lose another game" berbuah manis buat Fergie babes.
yes, a victory finally. meski marginnya kecil, 1-0, tapi cukup berharga untuk memperkecil gap dengan Chelsea. Fletcher yang selama ini sering dapat kritikan, muncul menyelamatkan wajah United dengan header terarah di menit 33. meskipun di menit-menit akhir terlihat fokus United ke pertahanan, tapi at least when the whistle blowed, the score remained :)
ini sekaligus menghambat langkah Chelsea yang tak terkalahkan sepanjang 9 laga pertamanya di Premiership. come on, lads!!! jangan kalah lagi..
eh, btw.. met lebaran semuanya. minal aidin wal faizin.

the season's barely a month old.. but look at us, it's seven point margin already to chelsea with only a game advantage in hand. come on, united.. i miss seein' full three point. i'm planning to visit you again in november, chanting and singing in old trafford. it's a hard way to get there so don't dissapoint me alrite? it doesnt feel rite to see your position on the table. back on the top where you belong..
battle of reds
wayne rooney, aset masa depan united dan inggris, tapi belakangan ini juga dicap sebagai sebuah liability. temper-nya sedang jadi bahan berita. setelah terlibat adu mulut dengan the england skipper david beckham di belfast saat inggris dikalahkan irlandia utara, rooney kembali menerima hasil dari temperamen remajanya yang meledak-ledak di arena champions league. menerima kartu kuning setelah tackle-nya terhadap salah satu pemain villareal, rooney bereaksi dengan tepuk tangan sarkastis tepat di depan wajah wasit kim nielsen (yang 7 tahun lalu sempat terkenal setelah memberikan kartu merah kepada beckham di piala dunia 98). hasilnya, rooney mendapatkan kartu kuning keduanya hanya dalam hitungan detik. he's off, just when united started to control the game.
tak pelak, menjelang battle of reds di anfield antara liverpool dan united akhir pekan ini, rooney kembali menjadi fokus, disamping pemain-pemain kunci united yang harus duduk di sideline karena cedera. roy keane, gary neville, gabriel heinze, luis saha, belum lagi the baby face asassin ole gunnar solskjaer yang harus bermasalah dengan cedera barunya. so, bisa dibilang united agak sedikit pincang. sir alex ferguson mungkin tidak punya pilihan lain kecuali menempatkan alan smith (yang belakangan ini bermain bagus menggantikan peran roy keane) di starting eleven. dan untuk menggantikan peran heinze, pilihan mungkin jatuh ke kieran richardson mangingat john o'shea sudah diplot untuk menggantikan gary neville.
dari liverpool, rafael benitez menyatakan teamnya berada dalam kondisi psikologis yang bagus dan kemenangan atas united akan jadi hadiah manis bagi fans juara champion ini.
dan, meskipun sedang offshore tapi "untungnya" rig sedang ada sedikit masalah, sehingga gak banyak kerjaan dan bisa nonton tv setiap waktu, maka battle of reds liverpool vs united akan jadi tontonan indah akhir pekan ini. untungnya lagi di rig, indovision kan gak pernah diacak.
dan, bersama posting ini juga, mav menyatakan
mengutuk TV7 yang memutuskan untuk mengacak tayangan liga ingggris di antenna parabola.
